TRAVEL TIPS

Our crew is happy to provide you with travel tips to ensure that your stay on board Pas de Deux will be most enjoyable.

Where to go?

Pas de Deux has its port of residence in Tortola, British Virgin Islands (BVI's), one of the safest and most protected destinations in the Caribbean.

Beef Island Airport is situated directly on beautiful Trellis Bay where Pas De Deux will be anchored awaiting your arrival. This is our top recommendation for point of departure. Captain Chris can meet you as you pass through British Customs and take you in the tender directly to Pas De Deux to start your vacation.

Arrival can also be through St. Thomas Charlotte Amalie Airport. After passing through US Customs a 15 minute taxi ride (~$25.00/person + $3-4/piece of luggage) to American Yacht Harbor, Red Hook Bay will allow you to meet Captain Chris and the tender for transfer to Pas De Deux. After a 1-2 hour sail to Soper's Hole West End, Tortola, Captain Chris will handle further transition through British Customs to begin your BVI vacation.

Customs and Immigration

Travel into and out of the US and British Virgin Islands requires a photo ID (driver's license) and for children a birth certificate. Passports, if available, always expedite the transition process.
There are no custom charges entering, although Beef Island has an exiting airport tax of $20-25 per person.

Make sure to check with the U.S. Department of State about the requirements for travelers between the United States and the Caribbean.

Alternative Itineraries

By special request a Leeward Island (St. Martin, St. Barts, Anguila) or Windward Island itinerary may also be arranged. Additional charges may apply.

What to bring?

Soft sided suitcases or bags are recommended for yacht charter travelers. Storage in the staterooms is found in two very large drawers under the beds, additional shelves and a hanging locker. The crew can accommodate additional sports gear in deck lockers.

Dress attire in the Virgin Islands is casual to enjoy the breezy and sunny weather. Soft sole or deck shoes are best for boarding the yachts. For men, long pants and deck shoes are required at several of the restaurants for dinner.
